Missions Giving
Mission activities are only part of the pleasure of being involved with missions here at Iotla.  We also believe in supporting missions through prayer and financial giving.
Not everyone can go on a mission trip physically, but all of us can be a part of this shared ministry by supporting one of our own mission teams or by cooperatively supporting the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
Moon-Lottie-1The Christmas Offering is received during the month of December each year.  This offering is named for Charlotte (“Lottie”) Digges Moon, a Southern Baptist missionary to China, who spent 40 years serving there (her picture is on your left).
The Annie Armstrong Easter offering is taken during the months of March and April.  This offering is named for a lay Southern Baptist missions leader, who was instrumental in the founding of the Woman’s Missionary Union (her picture is below right).
Our mission offerings give us the opportunity to support the work of Baptist missionaries and church planters who serve around the world.
We take Christmas flowers or fruit baskets to members of our church and community who are “shut-in” at home or residents of nursing care facilities nearby.  And from time to time we host guest speakers to teach us more about projects like “Samaritan’s Purse” or other mission opportunities, and to help us learn about developing our mission skills, such as how to share our own personal testimony.
If you would like to have more details about these local mission partnerships, please contact us.
